The past was the same

Looking back on this semester so far and what i've accomplished, I think I can safely say that I have probably not changed at all aside from the little hints and tricks I've pulled from the lectures. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a stubborn jerk or anything, i'm just really comfortable with my writing style and process. Maybe i'm perfect? Maybe I'm the next Stephen King, who knows? Anyway, if i could compare this very blog post to my very first one i'd have to say that this one has an edge over the other because it has a degree of attitude and honesty to it that most first assignments normally have. <_<
If i could change anything about this class it'd most likely be the due dates of our blog posts. I'd prefer to have them be due at 12:10 AM on Saturdays so my procrastinating ass could finish them right on time without any hassle(haaa i'm funny) but hey, what's a life without pressure?
Ms. Spencer is my favorite teacher ever, and you can quote me.
For anyone who's reading this post i want you to watch this short video and tell me how it made you feel on Monday... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24uTb6jEs_g&feature=share >_>

Comparison

So when comparing the rhetorical situation of my ad analysis to my literacy narrative i need to take into account the purpose, audience, tone, and genre. For the most part they shouldn't be too different in these aspects. Unlike what most people would expect, the purpose isn't to break through the psyche of American people with an expose of an advertisement that Michael Moore would come up with. Tonewise i would hope to come off with a sound of aggreeance with what the ad conveys. I'm not sure what to categorize my assignment as because i'm not disagreeing with it. My audience would most likely be my professor and class but more specifically the skateboarding community that could should read it.

Advertisements are Gnarly

The ad i chose was for Nike SB shoes and how they promote their products using pro skaters to endorse signature models amongst other things. The target audience for this ad is undeniably the skateboarding community but more specifically the younger generation of skaters due to the use of Paul Rodriguez as an endorsee/spokesman. For those who don't know, Paul Rodriguez or P.Rod for short is widely renouned as the top dog of modern skateboarding and is NOT to be screwed with. The tone of the ad conveys luxury (the white car) while retaining the spontaneity and rebelliousness (Paul using the car for something other than its purpose) that skateboarding has always encompassed. Compared to other ads this ad is very similar in the sense that it promotes a luxurious life and a degree of *bling* that modern pop culture is so familiar with.

Revision!

So i'm talking about my rough draft versus my final draft. The only legitimate thing i can say about looks were length. The final draft was longer than the rough draft and far better for it. Not many major revisions were made to the paper aside from grammatical errors and an extension to unfinished ideas. My error patterns were what would be common of someone who rushes their writing so to save time which makes sense with me at the wheel. My guide to making revisions were simply correcting errors in grammar that I overlooked whilst rereadng. My strongest aspect was probably the meat of the paper not the beginning and the end but the whole center of it, I felt successful as a story teller.
